The diversity comes from the freedom …

My aesthetic program interrogates the way angles of movement inform angles of thought, and vice-versa. When I am dancing, the studio is spinning and turning but my mind is still and calm, with a clear path of transition. But when I move into the role of choreographer, now it is my mind that spins and turns while the studio is still. In this way, diversity of movement frees my mind, and diversity of thought frees my body.

Experimentation is what nourishes my creative processes and is even the source of my inspiration. As a creator, I always highly value the unpredictable—the true reaction, interrupted rhythm, and humor—in my art works. I believe it is diversity in and among aesthetics, functions, topics, styles, and movement that consistently establish dialogues between the human body, inner sensations, outer spaces and various cultures. Diversity also combines with the ideas of re-organization, new collaborations, and the inseparability of creation and destruction. Destruction is a spiritual concept for me, one that means absorbing new nutrients while exploring the unknown and breaking stereotypes. This is how diversity creates the freedom of the body and help me to see possibilities of physical movements and require me to define and re-define the meaning of beauty and humanity from the increasing perspectives.

Dance for me is symbol of the freedom that engages both human body and mind. Dance for me is a serious subject that requires you understand your opinions deeper and wider through keep challenging your body. Dance for me is a bizarre existent, which attract me to keep discovering the possibility through my life.

No matter whether I am playing the role of performer, choreographer, teacher or researcher, I see myself the same way—as a thinker...
